Terms of service

These terms set out how you can use linqr, a dynamic QR code generator. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. We've tried to keep them as plain as possible.

In short

  • The QR codes you create belong to you.
  • The Free plan costs nothing and never expires. Pro is paid monthly or yearly through Polar, and you can cancel any time.
  • Your codes keep working after Pro ends — we never hold them hostage.
  • Don't use linqr for phishing, malware, illegal content or deceptive redirects.
  • Polish law applies, and consumers keep every right their own country's law gives them.

1.Who we are and definitions

linqr (“linqr”, “the service”) is run by Halo spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością (a Polish limited liability company), ul. Warszawska 40 / 2A, 40-008 Katowice, Poland, registered in the National Court Register under KRS 0001145505, VAT ID PL9542880835, REGON 540462426 (“Halo”, “we”, “us”). Contact: hello@onsonara.com.

In these terms:

  • User (“you”) — anyone using the service, including account holders.
  • Consumer — a user who is a natural person using linqr for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. Where the law provides, consumer rules also apply to sole traders for whom the contract isn't professional in nature.
  • Code — a dynamic QR code that points to a short link onsonara.com/q/…, whose destination you can change without changing the code.
  • Destination link — the address the code redirects people to.
  • Free plan and Pro plan — the plans described in section 4.

2.What linqr is

linqr lets you create QR codes, customise their design, download them in various formats, change the destination link without reprinting, and see scan statistics. Every code points to a short link on onsonara.com, which redirects the person scanning to the destination link.

To use the service you need an up-to-date web browser with JavaScript and the cookies required for signing in enabled.

The contract for electronic services starts when you create an account and runs for an indefinite period. Previewing a code on the home page doesn't require an account.

3.Your account

  • You create an account with an email and password, or by signing in with Google. You must be at least 16.
  • Use a real email address — we send important information about your account and codes there.
  • Keep your password confidential. You're responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone has accessed it, change your password and let us know.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion is permanent: all your codes stop working and any active subscription is cancelled.

4.Plans and payments

Free plan

The Free plan costs nothing and never expires. It includes up to 3 active codes, unlimited link changes, full design customisation, downloads as PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG up to 2048 px, and statistics for the last 30 days.

Pro plan

Pro removes the active code limit and adds print-ready PDF and EPS files, sizes up to 4096 px, full statistics for 365 days and CSV export of scans. Current prices are shown on the plan page before you buy.

Payments through Polar

  • Pro is sold by Polar Software Inc. acting as Merchant of Record: Polar takes the payment, calculates and remits taxes (such as VAT) and issues invoices. Your purchase is also subject to Polar's terms, shown at checkout.
  • You'll see the final price at checkout before you pay. Whether it includes tax depends on your country and on whether you buy as a consumer or a business.
  • Your subscription renews automatically for the next period — a month or a year — until you cancel. Payment is taken in advance at the start of each period.
  • You can cancel any time on the plan page. Pro stays active until the end of the paid period, then your account returns to Free.
  • You can switch between monthly and yearly billing on the plan page; your invoice will show how the change is billed.
  • Invoices and card details are in the Polar billing portal, available from the plan page.

Withdrawal and refunds

  • If you're a consumer in the EU, you can withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason. Just tell Polar (through the billing portal) or write to us at hello@onsonara.com and we'll pass it on.
  • If you ask for Pro to start before the 14 days are over and then withdraw, you'll pay proportionally for the time Pro was active.
  • Other refunds are handled by Polar under its policies and applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.

5.Your codes keep working

We never hold your codes hostage. When Pro ends, all your codes keep redirecting — printed ones included.

  • After Pro ends, codes over the Free limit keep working, but changing their link or design needs Pro — they become read-only. Your oldest active codes are the ones within the limit.
  • Codes don't expire. A code stops working when you pause or delete it, when you delete your account, or when we block it under section 6.
  • A short code, once assigned, is never given to anyone else — not even after deletion.
  • We work hard to keep the service and redirects running without interruption, but we can't guarantee 100% availability. Maintenance or provider outages can happen. We'll give notice of longer planned downtime.
  • If we ever had to shut linqr down, we'd tell you by email as far in advance as possible, so there's time to replace printed codes.

6.Acceptable use

You may not use linqr for:

  • phishing or tricking people out of data, passwords or money;
  • distributing malware or linking to it;
  • illegal content — including content that infringes copyright or personal rights, depicts child abuse or incites violence;
  • deceptive redirects, such as swapping the link behind a printed code for a page people don't expect, in order to defraud them;
  • spam, mass automated creation of accounts or codes, or getting around plan limits;
  • disrupting the service, attempting unauthorised access, or security testing without our permission.

You're responsible for your destination links and the content your codes lead to.

If you break these rules, or we receive a credible report, we may pause or block a code and, for serious or repeated breaches, suspend or delete the account. A blocked code shows people who scan it a page saying it's no longer active. We'll tell you about a block by email and explain why, unless the law forbids it or telling you would help further abuse. You can appeal by writing to hello@onsonara.com.

Report abuse or illegal content to hello@onsonara.com — include the code's short link and describe the problem.

7.Ownership and licence

  • The QR codes you create, their design and any logo you upload belong to you. You can use them however you like, including commercially, without crediting linqr.
  • By uploading a logo, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and process it as far as the service needs — for example to show a preview and generate files. The licence ends when you delete the logo or your account.
  • You confirm that you have the rights to the logos and content you use.
  • The service's software, design and the linqr brand belong to Halo Sp. z o.o. and are protected by law.
  • “QR Code” is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.

8.Liability

  • We're liable for providing the service properly under general rules of law.
  • We're not responsible for the content of sites that users' codes lead to, or for the consequences of printing a code with the wrong link. Check your code before printing — the preview shows whether it scans correctly. You can also fix the link after printing.
  • Towards users who aren't consumers, our liability is limited to actual damage and to the fees paid for Pro in the previous 12 months; we exclude liability for lost profits. This limit doesn't apply to damage caused intentionally.
  • Towards consumers, we don't limit our liability where the law doesn't allow it.

9.Complaints

Send complaints about the service to hello@onsonara.com. Describe the problem and include your account's email address. We'll reply within 14 days. Payment and invoice issues are handled by Polar — but you can write to us too and we'll help.

10.Ending the contract

  • You can end the contract at any time by deleting your account in Settings.
  • We may terminate the contract for good reason with 30 days' notice sent by email.
  • For serious breaches of these terms, such as phishing or spreading malware, we may block the account with immediate effect.
  • If we end the contract for reasons that aren't your fault, we'll refund the unused part of your Pro period proportionally.

11.Changes to these terms

We may change these terms for good reason, such as changes in the law, new features, changes to prices or limits, or security. We'll email you at least 14 days before changes take effect. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before that date. A new Pro price applies from your next billing period.

12.Governing law and disputes

  • These terms are governed by Polish law. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
  • Disputes with businesses are resolved by the court with jurisdiction over Halo Sp. z o.o.'s registered office. Disputes with consumers go to the court with jurisdiction under general rules.
  • Consumers can also use out-of-court dispute resolution, for example the consumer ombudsman or consumer protection body where they live.
